Using a Wall Mural to Spice up a Child's Room

By Anonymous Ink

Its no secret that creative energy stems from a childs habitat, and this is why parents are opting for creative room dcor and decorations. While bright colors and educational toys are all useful, a wall mural is a personalized way to encourage creativity and enhance positive energy.

These following tips are a guide on how to plan out an effective wall mural to encourage creativity.

1) Work with your child to come up with a great design As a parent, you must guide your child into choosing a design for a wall mural. Since it is something that your child will have for years to come, it is best to avoid focusing on a passing trend your child is currently obsessed over. Suggest longer lasting ideas that a child will not grow out of, such as a pretty scenic setting. However, you can not just pick a design on your childs behalf a wall mural must be something that he or she has an interest in and will like to look at.

2) Do not attempt to paint the wall mural yourself Unless you have experience with painting wall murals, chances are you will mess it up. I mean no offense by this, especially if you are an outstanding artist, but painting a wall mural is not as easy as it sounds. (Instead, you should opt to feed a starving artist with experience in wall murals.)

3) While it's always nice to get a family feel to your' room, you may not want to paint a family or the child's picture on the wall - you will have a tough time switching the room for one of your' kids, or showing the house if you decide to sell it. Instead here are a couple of other things you can paint; The Stars, An ocean view or some exotic country

4) Designate a waiting period After deciding on a design for a wall mural wait about 3 months before taking action. Consider the commitment of a wall mural to a tattoo. Once its there, youre stuck with it, so you want to be 100% positive there are no changes of mind. If after 3 months you have no doubt about the design, then you know you have chosen well. Proceed!

5) Pay attention to the amount of space available If you want to spark creativity in your child through use of a wall mural, you dont want something that will be covered up by furniture. While a wall mural does not need to cover an entire wall, you should consider the size of a room, and the placement of furniture. The size of a wall mural should actually be decided on before the design itself, because a hole into another universe piece will not be as effective if the wall mural is only 4 x 4.

6) Promote the wall mural Obviously, a wall mural makes for a better focal point in a bedroom, especially for a child, than a TV. The wall you choose for the mural should be visible from the doorway, and a focal point from the bed. (For this reason, among many others, you should never consider a wall mural of the boogeyman or anything that might closely resemble the boogeyman.) - 20785
