Finally 3D done right! The 3D in this movie was so real that I had to give this movie a high five and a slap in the face! No doubt my friend filmmaking has finally reached the next level. I have pretty much built my reputation on my no holds bared style of reviewing. The big machine that we lovingly call Hollywood has been cranking out crap after piece of crap for a long time. I cant tell you how happy I am to see that someone in tinsel town got it right.
Movie dates and horror films have gone together like Whitney Huston and crack for ages. As most movie buffs know My Bloody Valentine is another Hollywood remake. Most remakes are nothing more than a poor attempt to milk the consumer for money do to the fact that Hollywood has ran out of creativity and fear opening the gates to new talent. But thats a story for another time.
My Bloody Valentine 3D is a remake that I can defiantly get behind. The brilliant minds behind this film have knocked this one out of the park and right into your lap.
Be prepared " once the words, Put On Your 3D Glasses appears on the screen the shit is going to hit the fan. Its on after that point. You will be engulfed by huge balls of fire coming so close to your face that you will be able to feel the heat. Not to mention the pickaxes, and flying bullets that will be coming your way.
Dont get me wrong there are times that the 3D effects seem a little gimmicky because the story forces the occurrence of projectiles. However the majority of the time the 3D is right on point.
Did some one mention nudity? Oh it was me Well since we are on the subject this flick even raised the bar for the way nudity is revealed in a horror flick. No more of that peek-a-boo nudity. You know what I am talking about. Now you see it now you dont type of nudity. If you were reaching for some popcorn there is a good chance that you could have missed it. Well you dont have to worry about that nonsense with My Bloody Valentine because the nudity is right in your face. Wow 3D Breast! I bet you didnt expect to read that in this review, now did ya! Since I am trying to keep things clean I will move on
I do however have something that I am a little curious about. I was wondering how does the film company plan on releasing this on DVD? Will the 3D effects still look good on a regular television? Will they only issue one pair of 3D Glasses with the DVD version if its released in 3D? Will you be able to use the glasses that you used and should have saved from the movie theater?
Let me get down to the real reason that you are here. You want to know the answer to the question, To Bootleg or Not To Bootleg. My answer is simple NO WAY HOMIE! This movie is great and is spot on all the way around. Im afraid that I cannot support the bootleggers on this one.
Now that I am thinking about it Has Hollywood found a way to finally bootleg proof pirated movies? In a recent interview an employee from the REAL D company which is the company behind the new 3D technology. This guy was bragging that this new technology would virtually eliminate pirating all together. Surly this is someone who doesnt understand the underbelly of the Internet. I guarantee you that by the end of the year someone will find a way to bootleg this new technology. - 20785
